Ruth Y. Magoon, 76

Ruth Yvonne Magoon, 76, of Lexington, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Ruth was born March 14, 1934, at Oconto, to Clifford A. and Leota L. (Flint) Martin. She was a 1951 graduate of Oconto High School and attended Kearney State Teacher’s College where she received her teaching degree. She taught for one year at Park Valley School.
She was united in marriage to Sidney A. Magoon May 5, 1962, at Waukegan, Ill., while Sid was in the Navy. She devoted her time to raising her sons and traveling with Sid. She loved being with family and having family get-togethers. You could find her looking for treasures at garage sales, doing beautiful embroidery projects, reading and working in her garden.
Ruth was a 40-year member of the Evangelical Free Church. She will be so missed.
Survivors include her sons, Randy (Debra) Adams of Cozad, Mike (fiance‚Kathleen) Adams of Lexington; one brother, Roger (Sharon) Martin of Oconto; five sisters, Darlene (Verlouis) Forster of Smithfield, Violet “Vi” Eggle-ston of Oconto, Wanda (Bonnie) Eggleston of Oconto, Beulah Eggleston of Oconto, and Virginia (Virgil) Coryell of Lexington; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney in October 2010; brother, Clifford Martin; brothers-in-law, Keith Eggleston, Don Eggleston and Ken Eggleston and Jim Davis; sister-in-law, Pearl Martin; nephews, Rodger Eggleston, Travis Eggleston, Joey Davis and Randy Messbarger and one niece, Regina Araujo.
Funeral services will be today, Jan. 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Lexington with Pastor Duane Russell officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice.
