Sandhills/Thedford stuns Mullen in girls subdistrict final

February 15, 2013

Sandhills/Thedford picked the perfect time to get their only win of the season against Mullen- in the subdistrict final. The Knights earned the 64-52 victory, due in large part to a 22-229 performance from the line. Mullen, by comparison shot 4-11 from the charity stripe.

Kelsey Higgins and Kaitlin Marten lead the way with 19 and 18 points respectively. Avery Taylor had 12 to go with six from Sarah Miles. Shaina Simonson had five while Taylor Marten had four.

On the Lady Broncos side, Madison Tomlinson was the leading scorer with 17 points to go with 15 from Clara Vinton and 10 from Rachel Hoesing.

Amber Wright and Ally Ginkens had four and Jessica Lovitt finished with two.

The loss will likely bring Mullen's season to a screeching halt, as they will likely not have enough power points to get a wildcard. We will keep you updated on that confirmation

in other girls subdistrict news, Ansley-Litchfield cruised past Twin Loup 55-31 to win their subdistrict.
