Shoplifting investigation leads to drug charges

Broken Bow Police Department’s investigation of possible shoplifting at a local business on Saturday, Sept. 22, led to the consent search of a Broken Bow residence and charges ranging from shoplifting to drug offenses, according to Chief Steve Scott.
Chief Scott reported that three adults and one juvenile were cited as a result of the investigation. Citations were issued to Stephen M. Riggs, 20, of Whitney, for shoplifting and procuring alcohol to a minor, to Shayne B. Rodocker, 19, of Halsey for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, less than one ounce; and to Detric R. Bernal, 23, of Grand Island for procuring alcohol to a minor. Officers also cited a 17-year-old for minor in possession.
Chief Scott commended BBPD officers for following up on information that led to issuance of the above citations.
