Snow, icy rain for Monday Feb. 5, 2018

A qQuick moving disturbance will bring potential for accumulating snow this morning, Monday (02/02/18). There is a small chance of some light wintry mix including sleet/freezing rain. The forecast includes snowfall amounts of a dusting to 1-2", but locally higher closer to 3" not out of the question, mainly across far northern areas. Another round of accumulating snowfall moves in for late tonight/tomorrow.

The main chances will be today between 6 a.m. and noon. The nNext round moves in after midnight tonight, lingering through the daytime hours tomorrow.

The location today is primarily south-central Nebraska (especially along/north of I-80). Tonight the entire Hastings forecast area could be impacted.

There will be slick roadways/untreated surfaces. Wind chill values this morning of 0 to -15 are forecast (coldest values east of HWY 281). Gusty winds may result in reduced visibility in areas of falling snow. Later tonight and tomorrow, there will be slick roadways/untreated surfaces. Lighter winds are expected.
