Ted Ostrand, 81
Theodore "Ted" Ostrand, age 81 of Ansley, died Friday Dec. 10, 2010, at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Christian Life Center Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Mark Stones officiating. Burial was in the Ansley Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.
Theodore "Ted" J. Ostrand was born Dec. 19, 1928, in rural Custer County to John R. and Harriet (Southard) Ostrand. Ted attended rural schools and Broken Bow High School. He later attended electronics school.
In 1946, Ted was married to Yvonne Dobesh. Ted operated Ted's Furniture and TV for almost 40 years in Ansley.
Ted enjoyed shooting blue rock and hunting. During his life he was faced with many times of adversity, but he persevered through it all.
Ted is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Ansley; one son, David (Joan) Ostrand of Omaha; one grandson, Karl (Julie) Ostrand of Cape Town, South Africa; and two great- granddaughters, Jensen and Emme of Cape Town, South Africa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John; and a brother, Jack.
Memorials are suggested to the Christian Life Center in Broken Bow or the Ansley Rescue Unit.
