Terry Roy McCandless, 53, of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 1, 2010, at Evanston, Wyo.
Terry was born June 6, 1957, in Callaway to Eldon and Jeannette (Landrey) McCandless. He attended grade school in Arnold and graduated from Anselmo-Merna High School in 1976. Terry lived most of his live in Custer County.
Terry married Brenda Sillivan July 22, 1978, in Sargent. They had two daughters, Kyra and Ginger.
Terry married Barbara Morgan June 29, 2002, in Broken Bow.
Terry love driving his always clean, polished, Peterbilt truck, hauling grain, fertilizer, salt, hay, dog food and cattle just to name a few, over many millions of miles of high way in his short life. One could tell by the way he took care of his truck, cleaning and polishing it most every down time how much he loved his job.
His booming voice will not quickly be forgotten, nor his hearty laughs and easy smile. His presence could fill a room and he rarely knew stranger. The love of Terry's life was his family and grandkids.
His sudden and unexpected death is a shock to the whole family and we will greatly miss him.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; paternal grandmother, Ruby McCandless; parents, Eldon and Connie McCandless all of Broken Bow; and Jeannette Jacobs of Omaha; two daughters, Kyra and Chad Seefeld and their three daughters, Madison, Emmie and Sofie Seefeld, and Ginger McCandless and her son Jaxson Fullerton all of Omaha; 4 step-children, Nina Morgan of North Platte, Dustin and Aleena Morgan and their children, Jayce and Caysen Morgan, or Ellendale, N.D., Lisa and Kip Russell and their children, Reilee Leverington and Braylon Russell, and Lee Ann and Brandon Jepsen of Broken Bow; three sisters Marla Thompson of North Platte, Jonie and Rick Lenz of Broken Bow, Jeanne McCandless of Washington, Iowa; two half-sisters, Tami and Victor Collins of Plattsmouth, and Hiedi and Phil Beckett of Grand Island; two step-sisters, Gerri and Jim Washington of Grand Island, and Juli and Tim Meguire of Seward; and one step-brother, James and Michelle Zlomke of Broken Bow; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Sidney Landrey; paternal grandfather, Melvin LeRoy (Roy) McCandless; and step-brother, Joseph Daryle Zlomke.
Funeral services were Nov. 5 at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Interment was at the Broken Bow Cemetery.
