Bow firemen honored
The Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department was honored by the State Fire Marshall recently for the manner in which it helped fight the propane fire at the Merna Co-op last November. The presentation was made by Dwight Lyon of the Merna Rural Fire Board. Lyon said he was thankful to all the departments that came to the rescue and helped bring the fire under control and prevented it from becoming a major disaster. Accepting the award on behalf of the fire department was Frank Klapal, former fire chief.
