ImageSarah Elizabeth Malchow and Kyle John Blakeman were united in marriage Feb. 7, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender, with a reception following at the Wisner City Auditorium.
    Parents of the couple are Doug and Gail Malchow of Pender and John and Deb Blakeman of Merna. The bride is the granddaughter of Delta Vosteen, Pender, and Norma Malchow, Wisner. The groom is the grandson of Barb Barnhart of St. Francis, Kan., and Glenn and Shirley Blakeman of Merna.
    Sarah is a 2004 graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in agriculture business and animal science.
    Kyle is a 2003 graduate of Anselmo-Merna High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in agronomy.
    The Matron of Honor was Emily Malchow, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ann Krause, Amy Topp, Kay Raabe, sisters of the bride, Alli Oswald, friend of the couple, and Lindsay Blakeman, sister of the groom. The Best Man was Travis Porter, friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Kevin Blakeman, brother of the groom, Zach Bartak, Matt Drew, Neil Wagner, and Terry Sterner, all friends of the couple.
    The flower girl was Taylor Ross, cousin of the groom, and the rings were carried by Mason Topp, nephew of the bride. Ushers included Pete Miller, Brent Kirkpatrick, Levi Miller and Ty Sewell, friends of the couple.
    Guests were greeted by the bride’s brother-in-laws, Dave Raabe, Trevor Topp and Scott Krause. Rachel Meiergerd, Josie Waturbury and Jessica Bowman served as the personal attendants.
    The reception was hosted by the couple’s aunts and uncles, Gerald and Mary Smith, Dean and Connie Ullerich, Rod and Mary Ross, and Daryl and Yvonne Barnhart.
