Broken Bow High School senior Jeremiah Buhlman raced past Gothenburg's Andrew Collins at the finish line in the State Cross Country Meet at Kearney last Friday. Buhlman's kick at the end earned him a 9th place medal in the state competition. The Indians finished in 5th place in the final team standings in Class C1 boys.

On the girls side, Broken Bow just missed medaling, as senior Jenna Miller finished in 16th place with a time of 16:51.0. Liz Shada came in 18th with a time of 16:52.8. However, the Lady Indians did take 3rd place in the overall team standings in Class C1.

More pictures and complete results from the State High School Cross Country Meet can be found in this week's Custer County Chief.
