Volleyball: Ansley-Litchfield outlasts Cedar Valley

The Spartans of Ansley-Litchfield continued their impressive season, outlasting Cedar Valley in four sets and moving their record to 15-1 Thursday night.

They lost the first set 22-25, but then bounced back to win the next three sets 25-23, 25-15, 25-7.

Lindsy Siegel and Shawna Paitz finished the match with 11 and 10 kill aces respectively. Kaitlin Kratzer, Taylor Pickar and Jessica Bristol finished with four each and Kayla Reynolds added one.

Reynolds and Kratzer did a solid job of setting up their teammates with 15 and 13 assists respectively.

Pickar lead he team in total points with 23. She also went 18-20 on serves and had two serve aces,

For Ansley-Litchfield coach Pat Hoblyn, the victory came down to her teams nerves, or lack thereof.

"Cedar Valley is a very good volleyball team," Pat Hoblyn said. "They serve very tough and hit well. We just try to play steady and not get rattled."
