Wilma Mattox, 89

Wilma Lee Mattox, 89, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Cedar Rapids, lowa. Graveside services were Feb. 27 at Douglas Grove cemetery near Comstock, with Pastor Todd Karges officiating.
Wilma, the daughter of Hugh C. and Lily Virginia (Snyder) Drake, was born Nov.18, 1922, at Mount Washington, Kent. At an early age, she moved with her family to central Nebraska. Wilma grew up on the family farm south of Comstock where she attended Spring Creek School. She graduated from Comstock High School with the class of 1941.
Witma had a strong faith. She loved reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with family.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dan and wife Diane Egly of Swisher, lowa, and Shawn Mattox of Bozeman, Mont., and daughter Julie and husband Don Davis of Eldridge, lowa. Wilma is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Dorothy Manning of Broken Bow, Joyce Dickman of Sargent, and Ella Cross of Jacksonville, Ore.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Victor; three brothers, Jake, Jim and Bill Drake; and two sisters, Louise Wilson and Jurene Holmes.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
