By ARON HOLLAND The Indians trailed 8-3 entering the final inning and would need a comeback victory to earn the win. Just on cue, the Indians put together a rally in the top half of the 7th inning. Bow pushed across 10 runs on just 6 hits to take a 13-8 lead. The Indian defense retired the first 3 batters in the bottom of the inning to clinch the 13-8 victory. Derek Gaston was the starting pitcher for the Indians in the game. Gaston pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing 8 runs on 11 hits. Gaston also recorded 9 strikeouts while not surrendering a walk. Gaston gave way to Shane McCormick, who closed the game for the Indians. McCormick did not surrender a run or a hit as he shut down the Shelton/Gibbon batters. The Indians improved to 8-0 while handing Shelton/Gibbon it’s first loss as they fell to 5-1. |
