Teacher arrested after camera spotted in girls locker room

LOUP CITY, Neb. (AP) — A Loup City teacher has been arrested after the discovery of a video camera in a girls locker room.

Authorities say 25-year-old Anthony Rahe was arrested Friday on suspicion of two felony counts of unlawful intrusion. It's unclear whether Rahe has an attorney who could be contacted to comment on his behalf. Online court records don't yet list the case. Rahe is an agriculture instructor.

Broken Bow Homecoming Parade

Broken Bow Schools had a pep rally downtown at the Square Friday afternoon. They started the pep rally off with a Homecoming Parade.
The Broken Bow Varisty Football team plays Cozad Friday at 7 p.m.

A shooting at Northern Arizona University overnight, has left one person dead and three injured. Police say the suspect is in custody.

Keystone XL developer drops landowner lawsuits in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The developer of the Keystone XL pipeline is shifting course in Nebraska and will withdraw lawsuits seeking to gain access to the property of landowners who oppose the project, the company announced Tuesday.

TransCanada Inc. said it will abandon its current efforts to invoke eminent domain through the courts and will reapply for state approval despite having received the go-ahead from former Republican Gov. Dave Heineman in 2013.

Historic firearms to be displayed at Fort Hartsuff

ELYRIA, Neb. (AP) — U.S. military firearms will be on display at central Nebraska's Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park next month.

The fort, in conjunction with the Grand Army of the Frontier, will present "The Timeline of American Military Firearms 1860-1990."

The event is scheduled for Oct. 3-4 at the park, which sits three miles northwest of Elyria in Valley County. A park entry permit is required.

Members of the Grand Army of the Frontier will be dressed in period uniforms and will use original and reproduction firearms in explaining the development of the military weapons.
