This week we throwback to August 28, 1975.
The Daughters of American Revolution hold Boston Tea Party in honor of the American Revolution Bicentennial year. The event was at the Municipal Building in Broken Bow.
The theme for the Bicentennial year was "Preserve Your Heritage."

Rep. Adrian Smith at the Chief

Rep. Adrian Smith visited the Custer County Chief office Wednesday afternoon. He got a tour of our building and got to see the press room on press day.

Accident East of Broken Bow

August 25, 2015

A 2 vehicle accident occurred Tuesday afternoon east of the Custer County Fairgrounds in Broken Bow.
The Sheriff's Department is in charge of the investigation.
Highway 70 has been closed to through traffic due to this accident.

The demolition derby in Broken Bow is coming up August 22, so today we throwback to the the August 26, 1999 edition of the Custer County Chief.
Crunch 'em up action featured at derby.

3.6 Earthquake

August 19, 2015

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake happened 22 miles SE of Thedford early Wednesday morning.

Early Deadline for the September 10 Edition

August 18, 2015

Due to the Labor Day Holiday there will be an early deadline for the September 10 edition of the Custer County Chief. The deadline to get things in that edition is Friday September 4 at noon.
The Chief office will be closed Monday, September 7.
