Elizabeth Varney of Arnold, and Joseph Franssen of North Bend, exchanged wedding vows Sept. 25, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold, with the Rev. Dale Coates officiating.
Parents of the bride are Tiff and Barb Varney of Arnold, and the groom's parents are Louise Franssen of Montello, Wisc. and Tim Franssen of Anselmo.
Maids of Honor were Alexandra Varney, sister of the bride and Samantha Pandorf, friend of the couple. Bridesmaids for Liz were Katie Franssen, sister of the groom, and Jess Eastburn and Danielle Brown, friends of the couple. Personal attendants were Brittany Gunther and Briana Mills, friends of the couple.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was light ivory. The veil was a Varney family heirloom, dating from 1902. Liz was the 19th bride to wear the veil. Her engagement ring was originally worn by the groom's great grandmother.
Best man was Jerry Cox, friend of the couple and groomsmen were Tiff Varney, late brother of the bride, Peter Pelster, Ned Pelster and Bryce Nansel, friends of the couple.
Honored guests were Grace Varney, grandmother of the bride, Opal Collins, step-grandmother of the bride and Minnie Richards, grandmother of the groom.
Seating the guests were Randy Eckmann and Rick Schutt, friends of the couple. Others in the wedding party included the flower girl, Bailey Knoell and ringbearer, Ben Knoell, cousins of the bride. Music was provided by Marge German, piano teacher and friend of the bride. She accompanied Chelsey Kimball, who sang 'You Raise Me Up'.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Arnold Community Center. Host couples were Gary and Patty Knoell, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mark and Margie Kimball, friends of the couple.
Videographer was Jennifer Eckmann, friend of the couple. Servers were Eileen and Wendy Krause, aunt and cousin of the bride, Roberta Collins, aunt of the bride and Erin Schlake, cousin of the groom.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the Franssens will reside in North Bend.
