SUMNER -- The SEM Mustangs were were stunned by Axtell last Friday night losing 39-37. The Mustangs had a 20-15 lead at halftime but Axtell outscored them 13-7 in the third quarter to take the lead by one point. The Mustangs regained the lead early in the fourth quarter only to fall behind for good with five minutes left to play.
Dillan Line scored 23 points to lead the Mustangs. Also scoring for SEM were Lance English with 7 points, John O’Neill 2, Angel Boteo 2, Brandon Trampe 2 and Andrey Gallegos 1.
ARCADIA -- Saturday night, the Mustangs traveled to Arcadia and raced out to an early 18-4 first quarter lead. The Huskies were able to play with the Mustangs in the second quarter but trailed 27-12 at halftime. The Mustangs increased their lead by 20 points in the second half outscoring the Huskies 28-8 in the second half for a 55-21 win.
Line, again, led the Mustangs with 24 points followed by O’Neill with 7, Boteo 6, Gallegos 4, Trampe 4, English 4, Brian Guerra 3, Quinten Malcom 2 and Chase Erwin 1.
The Huskies were led in scoring by Luke Schmauder with 9 points followed by Matthew Quick 5, TJ Oltman 3, Michael Chelewski 2 and Brady Chilewski 2.
ARCADIA -- Last Friday, Arcadia jumped out to a 16-7 first quarter lead over Stapleton/McPherson County before the Cyclones outscored the Huskies 22-13 in the second quarter for a first half 29-29 tie.
The Huskies regained a 4-point lead at the end of the third quarter before the Cyclones outscored them 16-8 in the final quarter for the 56-52 win.
Chilewski led the Huskies in scoring with 16 points followed by Chelewski with 14, Williams 8, Quick 8 and Schmauder 6.
South Loup 45
ARNOLD -- The Sandhills/ Thedford Knights handed the South Loup Bobcats their second loss of the season 55-45.
The Bobcats owned an early first quarter 17-9 lead but the Knights fought back in second and third quarters to pull with in two points at 34-32. The fourth quarter was all Knights as they outscored the Bobcats 23-11 in route to their sixth win of the season.
Aaron Stryker led the Bobcats in scoring with 22 points. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Robert Pierce with 6 points, Chase Schwarz with 5, Zane Ellis 4, Brent Urbanovsky 3, Kyle Potter 3 and Drew Bowers 2.
DUNNING -- The Mullen Broncos and Sandhills/ Thedford Knights played even for three quarters before the Broncos broke open a lead in the fourth quarter. The Broncos outscored the Knights 14-8 in the final period giving them a 46-39 win over their conference neighbors.
Jake Spies led the Broncos with 12 points followed by Riley Rice with 10, Zach Call 8, Nate Vinton 7, Gabe Connealy 6 and Braden Storer 3.

WALLACE -- The Mullen Broncos took a 24-16 lead after outscoring Wallace 14-6 in the second quarter. In the second half, the Broncos scored 17 points in each quarter to open a 15 point lead for their ninth win in 10 games.
Connealy led the Broncos with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Vinton followed Connealy with a double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Also scoring for the Broncos were Rice and Spies with 12 points each, Call with 3, and Storer 2.
