With Valentine's Day fast approaching, my husband is constantly asking "What do you want for Valentine's Day?" Each year, my answer is the same: "Nothing." And each year, he gets me something because he says I'll be mad if he doesn't.
Is he correct? I don't know. I mean, we don't get presents for St. Patrick's Day or President's Day, and it never bothered me. To me, Valentine's Day is just another excuse for marketing something that should be done on a day-to-day basis: tell and show your loved ones that you love them!
Ya, ya, so it's not like I don't give presents for Christmas or Easter. Perhaps it is the way I was raised, but I put more emphasis on those celebrations than Valentine's Day.
Should you take advantage of the deals that restaurants, hotels or stores think up to promote their business? Of course! But wouldn't you take advantage of the deal if it were offered at other times throughout the year?
Helpless romantic or not...what are your views/fun stories about Valentine's Day?
