Junior Dixon "JD" Brown, age 79 of Broken Bow, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Graveside services were Sept. 23, in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Darrel Sybrant officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Memorials have been established to the Broken Bow Berean Church.
Junior Dixon "JD" Brown was born Feb. 15, 1932, at Broken Bow. He was the only child born to Dixon Palmer and Elizabeth May (Hothem) Brown.
JD quit school when he was a ninth grader to help his father on the farm. JD loved the farm life, especially raising registered Brown Swiss cattle and showing them at the state fair. He was proud of his many blue ribbons.
In 1973, the Brown family sold their farm and bought a home in Broken Bow. In 1974, Pastor Van Campen led JD to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. He attended the Berean Church and loved his job keeping the Sunday School records. JD was a quiet, easy- going man and liked everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dixon Palmer in 1973, and his mother, Elizabeth M. in 1974.
