Lucial E. Kulhanek passed away at Larchwood Inns Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at the age of 94. She was born April 22, 1917 in Ansley, to John and Marie Tiff. She was the youngest of their seven children.
Her three brothers and three sisters have preceded her in death.
She married Lloyd Kulhanek on her birthday in 1936. They had three children and lived in Fruita for many years. They divorced in 1969. He preceded her in death.
Lucial is survived by her sons, Gary (Judy Rumelhart) and Jay Kulhanek, and her daughter, Deanna (William) Herrick.
Her first grandchild, Michael Kulhanek passed away in 1980.
Lucial's surviving grandchildren are LaDawn Tutrow, Shellee Gibbs, Michelle Polk, Mark Herrick, Christopher Jackson, Patricia Jorgeson, Amanda Jackson, and Melissa James; great-grandchildren, Casey Thurman, Brandon Beach-board, Xander Herrick, and Kiana Polk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucial will be missed by those who loved her, but never forgotten. A special thank you to the staff at Larchwood who cared for her for the last two years.
Graveside services were Sept. 16. at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
