Melissa Rae Olson and Robert William Farris were united in marriage Sept. 24, 2011, at St. James Catholic Church in Omaha. The Rev. Michael McCabe officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed the ceremony at Scott Conference Center.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Barb Olson of Pleasanton. The groom is the son of Nile and Mary Farris of Nebraska City.
Melissa is the granddaughter of Ladd and Evelyn Olson of Broken Bow and Marvin and Margaret Olson of Berwyn, and the late Donna Olson.
Rob is the grandson of Helen Beccard of Nebraska City, and the late Robert Beccard; and Rose Farris of Davenport, Fla. and the late Robert Farris.
The maid of honor was Elizabeth Wanderscheid, friend of the bride and the best man was Joe Grundman, friend of the groom.
The bride graduated from Creighton University and is employed as a marketing specialist at Boys Town. The groom graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and is currently employed as an environmental field engineer at Terracon.
After a honeymoon to Kauai, Melissa and Rob returned to Omaha, where they are making their home.
