ANSLEY--It was announced last year Ansley and Litchfield would co-op in all sports beginning with boys basketball this winter.
However, it was decided to co-op the rest of activities starting fall of 2012. Currently Litchfield and Ansley play together for the boy’s basketball team, but their girl’s team remains separate.
Talk about an awkward situation when the Ansley and Litchfield girls’ basketball teams met last week, but a game was still to be played.
The Lady Warriors jumped on their future teammates with a fast first-quarter scoring burst and would take an 18-7 lead into the second quarter.
However, not to be out done, the Lady Trojans roared back and outscored Ansley 17-14 in the second quarter.
Ansley would take a 32-24 lead into halftime.
Litchfield continued to fight back against the Lady Warriors, outscoring their opponent 12-6 in the third quarter.
Going into the fourth quarter, Ansley lead 38-36.
Ansley outscored Litchfield 16-13 in the fourth quarter to close out the win.
"We started off very well," said Coach Travis Olson. " I think we lost our legs in the second and third quarter, but found some energy to finish the game. Kaitlin Kratzer had a great game for them (Litchfield) and we didn't defend her well."
Siera Rohde was the leading scorer for the Lady Warriors with 16 points.
Katie Drake dropped in 15 points and Courtney Marsh helped out with nine points.
Kaitlin Kratzer was the leading scorer with 16 points. Taylor Pickar helped out with 10 points.
Currently, Ansley stands at 9-2 and Litchfield is 5-7.

Broken Bow 37
BROKEN BOW--Broken Bow led the first three quarters, but Hershey outscored the Lady Indians 25-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Broken Bow played well early and outscored Hershey 12-7.
The second quarter was evenly played with Hershey winning the scoring battle 10-8.
The Lady Indians would take a 19-18 lead into halftime.
Broken Bow continued to play well in the third quarter, outscoring Hershey 7-4.
However, in the fourth quarter everything came apart for the Lady Indians.
Hershey outscored Broken Bow 25-10 to close out the win.
Kelsie Myers led Broken Bow with 14 points.
Brittany Leverington helped out with 10 points and Taylor Pearson and Krisha Scott both chipped in five points.

Twin Loup 40
North Central 32
SPRINGVIEW--Twin Loup used a strong first half and a late defensive stand to sink North Central by a score of 40-32.
The Lady Wolves were able to take an early 14-10 first quarter lead.
Twin Loup continued to play well and that parlayed into a 10-5 second quarter in favor of the Lady Wolves and 24-15 lead at halftime.
The Lady Wolves continued to play well in the third quarter and outscored the Lady Knights 9-5.
North Central turned the tables on Twin Loup in the fourth quarter and outscored the Lady Wolves 12-7, however, the Lady Wolves were able to close the game out for the win.
"Our girls did a really good job of rebounding and limiting North Central's second chance opportunities," said Coach Dan Helberg. " Our girls were very patient tonight and played with some poise."
Josie Simmons was the leading scorer for the Lady Wolves.
Simmons dropped in a game-high 13 points and grabbed four rebounds.
Rebecca Olsson also contributed 11 points and hauled in eight rebounds.
Twin Loup currently stands at 7-5.
MERNA--Sandhills/Thedford used a 23-point second quarter to secure momentum and drop Anselmo-Merna by a score of 75-31.
The Lady Knights outscored the Lady 'Yotes 14-8 in the first quarter. S/T went on a 23-10 second quarter run and would take a 37-18 lead into halftime.
The Lady Knights out scored A-M 13-3 in the third quarter and 25-10 in the fourth quarter to close out the win.
Sarah Miles scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Lady Knights.
Michaela Miles and Shelby Saner each contributed 12 points.
For the Lady 'Yotes, Victoria Downey was the leading scorer with eight points. Katie Kirkpatrick helped out with seven points and Megan Max dropped in three points.
SUMNER - -Litchfield used a strong second half to dump SEM 50-34.
The first quarter was close with Litchfield outscoring SEM 9-7. The second quarter turned out to be no different as Litchfield outscored SEM 11-8.
Litchfield would take a 20-15 lead into halftime.
The third quarter turned out to be key for Litchfield.
The Lady Trojans outscored SEM 17-9.
The fourth quarter was evenly matched with Litchfield holding a 13-10 scoring edge.
Kaitlin Kratzer was the leading scorer for the Lady Trojans with 14 points. Shaylee Burr led SEM with six points.
Currently SEM stands at 6-7.
PLEASANTON--SEM dropped Pleasanton 44-34.
The Lady Mustangs outscored Pleasanton 15-12 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Shaley Burr led SEM with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
South Loup 28
BRADY-- Brady used a 17-2 third quarter to slow down South Loup's momentum and cruised to a 60-28 win.
Brady outscored the Lady Bobcats 14-9 in the first quarter and 19-8 in the second quarter and would take a 33-17 lead into halftime.
Brady kept the pressure on in the third quarter, outscoring South Loup 17-2.
Brady outscored South Loup 10-9 in the fourth quarter to close out the contest.
Michala Dockweiler was the leading scorer for South Loup with 10 points and four rebounds.
Michaela Weverka helped out with seven points and seven rebounds.
Twin Loup 57
SARGENT--Twin Loup used a 23-15 second quarter run to gain momentum in a 57-35 win over Anselmo-Merna.
The first quarter was evenly matched with Twin Loup holding an 8-7 advantage after one quarter of play.
The Lady Wolves extended their lead in the second quarter with a 23-15 run.
Twin Loup went into halftime with a 31-22 lead.
The Lady Wolves kept the pressure on in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady 'Yotes 14-6. Twin Loup closed out the game with a 12-7 run.
Rebecca Olsson was the leading scorer with 12 points and four rebounds.
Shayna Dunbar helped out with 10 points and six rebounds.
Leading the way for the Lady' Yotes was Kassie Russell. Russell dropped in 11 points.
Katie Kirkpatrick helped out with 10 points.
Spalding/ SA 32
SPALDING - -Ansley used a 17-6 fourth quarter to close out the Knights 50-32.
Katie Drake scored a team-high 20 points and Siera Rohde helped out with 10 points.
ANSLEY--Ansley started off fast and dropped SMC 51-32.
The leading scorer for the Lady Warriors was Katie Drake with 19 points.
Siera Rohde helped out with 16 points and Kathleen Ryan chipped in 12 points.
Cedar Valley 42
CEDAR RAPIDS--Cedar Valley dropped Ansley 42-37. Ansley was outscored 17-9 in the fourth quarter. Katie Drake was the leading scorer with 15 points.
MERNA--The Lady Coyotes fell to Spalding/ SA 50-32.
Victoria Downey was the leading scorer with 12 points.
