Russell J. Mason of Omaha, died at Immanuel Hospital March 12, 2012, one day after his 83rd birthday.
Russell was born and raised in Anselmo to Harry and Joyce Mason. He married Bonnie Dainton June 18, 1950. They spent most of their 61 years of marriage in Omaha where they raised six children.
Russell was a brick-layer by trade but many will attest to the fact that he could build or fix anything that he laid his hands on. He was an active member of Maplewood United Methodist Church, Keystone Task Force, the Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Maxine Skiles; three brothers, Donald, Darrell, and Kenneth.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; sons, Jerry (Debbie) of Lenexa, Kan.; Michael (Heidi) of Lincoln; Patrick and Craig of Omaha; daughters, Jackie DeLozier (Bob) of Wenatchee, Wash., and Linda Kellogg (Gary Focht) of Omaha; 22 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren with three more “on the way”. He is also survived by brother Marion (Irene) of Eustis; sister-in law, Viola Mason; 14 nieces and nephews and their families, many who reside in Custer County.
Russell’s service was March 16, at Roeder’s Funeral Home in Omaha. His final resting place is Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.
