Ronald C. Dittmar, age 83 of Oconto, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at the Callaway Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 10, at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, south of Oconto, with the Rev. Victor Rasmussen officiating. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials have been suggested to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Ronald C. Dittmar was born Aug. 12, 1928, to Charles and Ella (Neben) Dittmar on the family farm near Oconto. After Ron's schooling he joined the US Army, serving from September 1953 through September 1955. He returned to the family farm south of Oconto where he spent all of his life.
As a young man Ron played baseball on the Oconto teams. He was a great card player especially at pitch and cribbage. Ron was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, Neb. Ron was also a member of the Oconto American Legion.
Ron is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Stocker of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephews, Roger Patterson, Richard Patterson, Ryan Patterson, Larry Dittmar, Paul Dittmar and one niece Sharon Malkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bernard; and a sister, Pauline.
