David C. Eberle, 67 years of age from Minden, died Jan. 1, 2013, at the Kearney County Health Services-Hospital shortly after being admitted.
David was born Jan. 24, 1945, in Mason City, to Charles and Marie (Nielsen) Eberle. He grew up in the Mason City area and attended school in Mason City. He moved to Broken Bow and worked at Becton-Dickinson.
September 17, 1967, he married Elaine Garska and they moved to Minden in 1970. David worked for Miller the Driller, Minden CO-OP and then for Cargill in Heartwell until retiring in 2006 due to poor health.
David received a heart transplant in 2008. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing but mostly his children and grandchildren. David was an active member of the Riverbend Christian Fellowship of Grand Island.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Minden; two sons, Charles Eberle and wife Amy, and Paul Eberle and wife Dawn of Minden; daughter, Tina Mason and husband Richard of Adkins, Texas; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Betty Beno of Minden and Shirley Jones of Ansley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, a nephew, three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Pastor Fred Davis officiating. Graveside services were at the Madison Square Cemetery near Taylor.
