Loup County Public Schools – 10 a.m. late start Monday
Mullen Public Schools – 10 a.m. late start Monday
Ord Public Schools – 10 a.m. late start Monday
Sandhills Public Schools – no school Monday
Sargent Public schools – 2 hour late start Monday – buses run accordingly
Stapleton Public Schools – 10 a.m. late start Monday
Road conditions continue to remain hazardous if not impossible. Light to moderate snow continues and is expected to taper off to flurries late afternoon and evening with accumulations of 1-5 inches across Custer and Loup counties. Snow accumulations of 5-10 inches are expected across the rest of the area. Expect periodic visibilities down to a quarter mile especially in open areas.
North winds of 30-40 mph anticipated with gusts of up to 50 mph causing blowing and drifting snow.
Travel is extremely dangerous. If you must travel have winter survival kit with you; if you get stranded stay with your vehicle.
Closings and postponements include:
- Loup Valley Road riders – No meeting today, moved to Feb. 17 at the Den in Comstock.
- Sargent Chamber of Commerce Soup Cook-Off cancelled
- Custer County Ag Society Appreciation Dinner rescheduled for Feb. 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Custer County Fairgrounds
- John and Terry Hunt Benefit cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
