Raymond L "Pete" Royle, 70, passed away Dec. 22, 2012 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs Colo. He was born Oct. 30, 1942, the son of Lloyd Raymond Royle and Mary Elizabeth McCullough Royle. He spent his eary years in Custer County and granduated from Ansley High School in 1960. He joined the Air Force in 1964 and served for four years. Following his discharge he operated a service station in Versailles, Mo. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1973, and was employed by the city of Colorado Springs in the electric department.
Pete was united in marriage to Linda Todd Aug. 25, 1985. They made their home in Peyton Colo. Linda preceded him in death May 22, 2009. They were active members of Grace Bible Church and later were founding members of Meridian Bible Church in Colorado Springs. They loved serving the Lord through their churches and gave willingly of their time, talent and treasure. He was a leader of the Awanas at Meridian until his health failed.
Survivors include two children, daughter Rhonda Todd Robertson and husband Adam of Colorado Springs; son, Tim Todd and wife Leslie of Versailles Mo.; four grandchildren Zachary and Adam Mittelstadt, Jesse Walters and Bella Robertson; one sister, Marlene Snyder and husband Fred of High Point, Mo. Additional survivors are nieces Tammy Garrison and husband David Lees of Summit Mo., Janet Brown and husband Aaron of Joplin Mo.; four great -nieces, and one great-nephew.
In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Lloyd Petersen.
A memorial service was held at Grace Bible Church Dec. 26. A celebration of life service will be Feb. 2, 2013, at Westminster Presbyterian Chruch in Versailles, Mo., with inurnment at Ritchie Cemetary near Versailles.
