Allen L. Geiser, age 80 of Broken Bow, died Jan. 21, 2013, at the Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Allen Leroy Geiser was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Arnold, to Lennie and Evelyn Geiser. Allen graduated from Merna High School in 1950. He served two years in the Army, spending much of his time in Alaska.
He married Rosella Beatty in Arnold, March 17, 1957.
Allen farmed with his father. He and Rosella made their home at the Ira Cool place on the table west of Merna, and later in the Otto Blakeman home. They moved to the home place in 1973. Allen and Rosella moved to Broken Bow in 1998.
Allen served on numerous boards in the community for many years. These included the Anselmo-Merna School Board, Custer County Feeders and Breeders, and Farmers Coop Grain. He was a member of the American Legion Post 50, and the United Methodist Church in Merna.
Allen spent his adult life in the farming and ranching business.
Allen is survived by his wife, Rosella of Broken Bow; brother, Leslie (Sandra) Geiser of Tabermash, Colo.; daughter, Colleen Peterson of Broken Bow; sons, Wayne (Mona) Geiser of Merna, and Kyle (Annette) Geiser of Merna; grandchildren, Jessie Bloomer, Jake Geiser, Ben Peterson, Cole Geiser, Trent Geiser; and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lennie and Evelyn Geiser; brother, Ivan Geiser; sister, Shirley Seevers; and daughter, LuAnn Geiser.
Memorials are suggested to the Anselmo-Merna Scholar-ship Fund.
Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with the Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Interment was at the Cliff Cemetery with military honors, with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements.
