David Leroy Tucker, age 60 of Broken Bow, died March 4, 2013 at Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Govier Brothers Mortuary with Jerry Ricketts officiating. Interment will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery, with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family.
David Leroy Tucker was born Oct. 15, 1952, at LoupCity, to Marion Seth and Clarissa Joyce (Tvrs) Tucker.
During his younger years Dave lived on a farm near Westerville and attended school at Dry Valley, Myrtle, Allen and Westerville. He attended high school at Anselmo-Merna where he enjoyed playing football and basketball.
He served the U.S. Army from Sept. 14, 1971, until July 2, 1973, serving some time in Heidilberg, Germany.
Dave and Yvonne Diefen-baugh married March 29, 1975, and lived in Merna and on a farm near Westerville.
He was baptized Dec. 18, 1981, at the Church of Christ in Broken Bow. Dave served on the Westerville School Board, worked 30 years at the sale barns in Broken Bow, Sargent, Kearney and Lexington. He enjoyed farming, haying, cattle, hogs, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his daughter, Hayley and husband Evan Quidachay-Swan of Zusi, Japan; son, Preston and wife Alicia Tucker; granddaughters, Tahnna Nokes and Miranda Tucker of Arnold; son, Derrick and wife Megan Tucker and grandson Broc of Merna; brother, Delmar and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents Joseph Paul and Edith May Tvrs.
