Charlotte J. Griebel, 81, of Sargent, died Friday March 8, 2013 at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday March 13 at the United Methodist Church in Sargent with the Rev. Marvin Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery west of Comstock. Visitations will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent is in charge of arrangements
Charlotte was born July 1, 1931, at Omaha to John and Zelda (Hultd) Nelson. Charlotte attended schools in Omaha and Lincoln and graduated from Van Sant School of Business in 1950. While attending college, Charlotte met Bernard Griebel and they were married in 1951.
Charlotte had fond memories of the time spent in San Diego while Bernard served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Comstock to farm. She enjoyed employment at Sargent Nursing Home & Hospital, where she developed lasting friendships.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include Timothy and wife Debra of Fremont, Gregory and wife Connie of North Platte, Mark and wife Lenny of Hot Springs, S.D., and Julie and husband Dean Wood of Litchfield, one sister La Vonne of Alatha, Kan.; Brothers and sisters in-law Donald and Nina Griebel of Comstock, Gerald Griebel of Colorado, Ken and Shirley Diefendorf of Oregon, Ron & Susanne Schlieger of Lincoln, Cynthial Griebel of Spain and June Griebel of Colorado.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard and her parents. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Sargent.
