Mary Antonia Seda Walker, 80, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at
Heritage Hall in Broken Bow. She was born Jan. 25, 1933, to Stanley and Mary (Jenasofsky) Seda in
Arnold on a farm in Mills Valley. She attended Mills Valley Grade School
and later Arnold High School. After high school she helped Paul and
Marjorie Weinman when the twins, Jim and Jean, were born.
December 8, 1954, Mary married Norman E. Walker in Cozad. To this union three children were born: Bennie Lynn, Dale Eugene and Norma Jane.
They made their home in Arnold while Norman worked for Ed and Lou Seda and farmed on his own until Norman started working for Clarence Davenport in 1969 and continued until his death Jan. 31, 1993.
Mary loved to garden and embroidery and was well known for giving the
garden produce to family and friends. She also sold and gave away many
pairs of pillow cases for weddings and graduations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, of 30 years of marriage; her parents; two brothers, Lewis and Edward and sister Rosalie Turley, and an infant granddaughter, Jean Ann Walker.
Survivors include sons, Bennie (Sue) Walker of Arnold, Dale (Nyla) Walker
of Hershey, and a daughter Norma Walker of Arnold and her special friend,
Dave Dibbern of North Platte; grandchildren, Meri Jo Kadner of North
Platte, Edward Walker of Hastings and Eugene Walker of Arnold; two great-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Alyssa Kadner; a sister-in-law, Ann Seda of
Arnold, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, June 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Arnold with Pastor Irving Jennings officiating. Burial
was at the Arnold Cemet-ery. Memorials may go to the Mary Walker Memorial Fund, c/o the Family, Box 52 Arnold, NE 69120.
Arnold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
