Janine Kay Golden, 59 of Sugar Loaf, Calif., passed away Aug. 1, 2013, at her home.
She was the first child of Robert and Shirley Golden and born in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Jan. 20, 1954. She was baptized at the Berwyn Methodist Church.
She attended school in Broken Bow and Ogallala.
She married Carlos Echeverria Jan. 21, 1971. To this union two children were born; Michele (Dan) Myers and Cameron (Courtney) Echeverria.
She was an 18-wheel truck driver for many years around Denver until her children were raised and then she bought her own truck and went coast to coast. Before her death she worked at a company in Big Bear, Calif., driving a bus, carrying people from the mountain down to the valley.
She also enjoyed plants, flowers, crocheting and sewing with canvas (sailboats and boat covers).
She is survived by her mother of Broken Bow; daughter of Castle Rock, Colo., and son of Westminster, Colo.; siblings, Michael (Terri Jo) Golden of Cheyenne, Wyo., Lora (Cliff) Ruzicka of Grand Island, Kara (Gale) Hoover of Wray, Colo., Neal (Tami) Golden of McCook; eight grandchildren: Kayla, Anna, Jesse, Isaac, Abraham, Devin, Tristen, and Keirra.; several nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives, co-workers and friends.
Janine was preceded in death by her father and husband, Carlos Echeverria.
A memorial service was held Aug. 10, 2013, at the Crossroads Church in Northglenn, Colo., with the Rev. Matt Manning officiating.
