Esteleen Anderson, 80, of Broken Bow, died Dec. 20, 2013, at Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Esteleen was born Dec. 29, 1932, south of Seneca, to Bill and Ida (Madron) Goehring. After growing up in the Sand hills she graduated from Thedford High School in 1950.
September 15, 1950, she married Robert U. Anderson in Thedford. Robert was then drafted into the Army and after fulfilling his duties they moved to Broken Bow in 1953. To this union two children were born.
Esteleen is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Gerald (Tanya) Anderson of Elkhorn; daughter, Deanna (Scott) Zachary of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Tyler Varland of Ogallala, Kellie (Nick) Emigh of Walla Walla, Wash., Darcie Anderson of Aurora, Colo., and Dustin Varland of Sutherland; great grandchild, Braxton Varland of Ogallala; step grandchildren, Jeremy Zachary of Kearney, and Shelby Zachary of Broken Bow; sister, Carolyn (Jack) Corbin of Sumner; sister-in-law, Alice Mae Goehring of Thedford, and several loving nieces and nephews.
Esteleen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Goehring, and infant granddaughter. Services were Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, with the Rev. Dawn Black officiating. Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, or Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow was in charge of arrangements.
