Veronica A. Englert, age 83 of North Platte, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1931, at Anselmo, to Ira and Katherine (Powers) Green. She graduated from Anselmo High School and attended Chadron State College.
June 2, 1953, she was united in marriage to Harold Englert in Anselmo. They lived in Colorado for 18 years before moving to North Platte in 1973. Veronica was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and VFW Auxiliary Post 8544 in Dunning. Survivors include her son, Dwight (Pamela) Englert of North Platte; her daughter, Genevieve (Darrell) Billingsley of Whitman; brother, Dale (Phyllis) Green of Sargent; sister, Elizabeth (Bernard) Neville of Kearney; brother-in-law, Dewayne Weaver of Fremont; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; three brothers, William, Donald, and Joseph Green; twin-sister, Monica Weaver.
Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Fund. Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial was at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
