Bruning State Bank Announces Promotions

Staff Writer

Jerry Catlett, President of Bruning State Bank, is pleased to announce that Jim Scott will be serving as President of the Bruning State Bank in Broken Bow and Dan Jelinek as Senior Vice President. Jelinek has served as President of the Broken Bow branch from 2005 through 2017 and felt it’s time to promote the next generation of bankers. The new transfer of roles will allow Scott to take on more management responsibilities within the Broken Bow branch, while Jelinek will have the chance to spend more time with his customers.
Scott announced Renee Girardin will now be serving as a Personal Banker. Girardin started her banking career at Bruning State Bank in February 2017. “We have a great staff that Dan and I are proud to work with every day,” stated Scott. The branch looks forward to continued growth in the bank. This enthusiasm stems from the help of newly established Ag & Commercial Loan Officer, Shantel Daake, who is familiar with agriculture and well known in this community.
The Broken Bow branch was established in 2005, and since then has grown to become an integral part of BSB. The Bank has been proud to support the community of Broken Bow and to be involved with the agriculture and commercial businesses. Scott and Jelinek have been a banking team for over 20 years, and with the BSB staff, look forward to continuing to serve Custer County and surrounding communities for years to come.
“Our employees are our greatest asset,” stated Fred D. Bruning, CEO. “We are committed to empowering them to best serve our customers and communities. Broken Bow is a strong agriculture community that we are proud of and fortunate to assist in Building and Maintaining Wealth.” Bruning State Bank is a fifth-generation family-owned bank that has been in business since 1891. The main office is located in Bruning, NE with branches in Hebron, Broken Bow, Holdrege and Kearney.
