Forest "Jim" Fagan, 84

Forest C. "Jim" Fagan, 84, of Anselmo, passed away Feb. 18, 2012 at Callaway.Jim was born October 1, 1927, in Denver, Colo., to Ellen (Teahon) and John Fagan. He attended rural schools in the Anselmo area and in 1945 he graduated from Anselmo High school. After high school, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army.He returned to Grand lsland, where he drove a truck for Nash Finch. June 18, 1951, Jim was married to Ruth Harrold at St Anselm's Catholic Church. In 1953, he went to work for Rain Chief lrrigation as a driller. In 1955, Jim and Ruth purchased a farm and returned to Anselmo where he also farmed with his Uncle Bill. Jim retired from farming in 1993, and continued to live on the home place.Jim is survived by his wife, Ruth; six children, Patricia (Pat) Fagan of Broken Bow, Cecelia {John) Claybrook of Osage City, Kan., Ellen (Warren) Pryor of Fort Wayne, lnd., James Fagan of Kearney, Mary (William) Altig of Newark, Texas, and Elizabeth (Betty) (Ned) Wemhoff of Clarks; 10 grandchildren, Heather (Rob) Richardson, John Claybrook, Augusta Pryor, Annie Pryor, George Pryor, Christine Freyer, Amanda Altig, Andrew Altig, Paige Wemhoff and Jessie Wemhoff; one great-granddaughter, Kaeli Blitch and his cousin, Arlene.Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Freyer; parents, and cousins Marge, Bob, Betty Ann, Monica, and Lucille.He will be laid to rest in St. Anselm's cemetery Feb. 25, 2012. Funeral services will be Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo with Father Jim Hunt officiating.Visitation will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo.
