Light snow for parts of Nebraska over weekend

National Weather Service

Friday afternoon the National Weather Service (NWS) said light snow will develop Saturday night across western and north central Nebraska with 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation expected. Wind chills of zero to 10 below zero are possible by Sunday morning north of Interstate 80.

Snow will begin late afternoon/early evening over northern Nebraska and spread south Saturday night.

The main travel hazard according to the NWS will be from possible snow packed roadways Saturday night into Sunday morning. Winds will be 10 to 20 mph so blowing snow will be limited.
