With the Powerball Jackpot at an estimated $1.5 billion Jan. 13, 2016, Powerball tickets are selling well.
At the Bear Pad in Callaway Wednesday afternoon, Peg Stryker was selling Powerball tickets alongside purchases of fuel and snacks. Asked if sales for the record-breaking lottery were going through the roof, she said with a smile, "A little bit."
In Broken Bow at Casey's, customer Linda Tincher stopped in and bought one not only for herself but a second one as a gift. Wyatt Horine of Casey's said they had been busy with customers buying tickets. "Oh, yes, very busy...almost every single customer is buying one," he said.
