Redistricting leads to change in voting venues

Voters in five precincts in Custer County will have a new place to vote in the next election. Changes in redistricting following the 2010 census allow this to happen. The change begins with the 2012 Primary and General election and for all elections following.Myrtle and Westerville will now vote at the Ansley Community Hall; Lillian, Milburn and Loup will vote at the Veterans Building in Broken Bow. County Clerk Conni Gracey said those precincts each had 65 or less voters in the last election. The county will save approximately $2,100 by moving the precincts. Letters will be sent to those resident households informing voters of the move. “Early voting is always an option,” she said, “either directly at the court house, or through the mail.”
