Snow amounts increased for Friday, Saturday

National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) updated the forecast for snow in central and north central Nebraska early Friday morning. Now a total snowfall of 1 to 4 inches is expected for Friday and Saturday.

Harsh winter weather is underway and will continue today and tonight. Basically, it will get cold, it will snow and then it will get colder. A pattern we have seen several times this winter.

Friday and Friday evening are the best chances for snow. Midnight to 9 am each morning are the prime times for very cold wind chill readings.

Travel will be impacted. There will be slick roads and walkways from accumulating snow and a glaze of ice. Be aware frostbite and hypothermia can occur from long exposure to cold.
